UPI payment from today in 15 seconds! NPCI's new rules changed digital transaction experience

Tech News: Now you will not have to wait long for UPI payment. Under the new rules of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI payment will now be completed in just 15 seconds. Earlier this time used to be up to 30 seconds. Today these changes have come into force from 16 June.

What has changed in UPI transaction?

Now when you send money to someone from Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm, the payment will be 50% faster than before. NPCI had asked all banks and payment apps to upgrade their system, so that the transaction is faster.

For this, technical changes have been made in the API system ie application programming interfaces. This is the system that transfers your money from one bank to another.

Why did NPCI make these changes?

UPI is being used everywhere today - from grocery store to metro tickets. But many times there was a problem of slow transaction or 'payment fail'. To improve this, NPCI has taken this step, which:

Now the status check or reversal will take only 10 seconds, earlier it used to take 30 seconds.

When will you get confirmation if a transaction gets stuck?

Earlier you had to wait for 90 seconds to know whether the payment was successful or not. Now this time has come down to 45-60 seconds. That is, now the situation of transaction will be clear quickly.

What do users have to do?

• Users only have to keep their UPI app update.
• Payment may face problems if there is no new version.
• The rest of the work is NPCI, bank and payment apps.
• Users will get the correct information about payment immediately with sharp status updates
• Wrong transactions can be caught early
• False links or fraud will help protect
